زیارت اربعین و پیاده رفتن ثواب زیاد دارد ولی کسانیکه امکان رفتن به کربلا را ندارند بهر دلیلی باید که در نزدیکترین محل منتسب به امام حسین پیاده روی کنند و از مزار شریف علی ابی طالب بسوی سرپل بروند و یا در شهرها و روستاه پیاده به قصد زیارت اربعین بسوی مسجد جامع بروند  از ابراهیم زکزاکی که پیاده روی را باب کرد تقلید نمایید. به همین جهت کشورهای جهان را به سه منطقه یا سه جزیره میتوان تقسیم کرد: کشورهایی که دارای زیارتگاه هستند مانند عراق و عربستان و ایران و کشورهایی که فقط دارای مسجد هستند و کشورها یا مناطقی که مسجد یا بارگاه و بقعه مبارکه ندارند.
